LA
Oh’ California, the beaches, the surf, restaurants and the unforgettable sunsets. This is a paradise and an easy escape for love birds looking for a romantic getaway. We had a great time exploring the LA area and scouting out the most beautiful and unique proposal spots we could find. Below are 10 of our favorite spots, they aren’t numbered because we think any one could be the perfect proposal spot!
Like a scene out of a romantic novel, the ocean crashes up on the rocks with arches that have been carved out by the water over time. With the soft sand and warm sunshine splashing around in the surf was a lot of fun here. We think this is the perfect spot for a daytime proposal.
This one of a kind chapel, nestled on a hillside with the ocean on one side and a beautiful forest embracing it from the other is an absolutely stunning location for a proposal and eventually your wedding itself! We loved the way the architect embraced the surroundings with beautiful windows on all sides including the ceiling. The way the arches branch out makes you feel like you are in the forest itself.
Down a hidden entry and a long set of stairs lies Victoria Beach. Not known by many tourists, it is a local hangout with beach volleyball, surfing and plenty of beach to relax on. But if you hang a right after you come down the stairs and follow it for a couple hundred yards you will come to a beautiful spot on the beach that has a pirates tower and a smooth beach that would be perfect for a sunset proposal.
Situated on the edge of a bluff this beautiful park has a full view of the lighthouse! The lighthouse is open for tours only once a month so double check the open times if you want a tour. But with picnic tables all over the park, we enjoyed a great view of the ocean and lighthouse, and a romantic sunset too.
Perched atop a hill this resort has a rolling golf course that looks like it goes right off to the ocean. This location is a home run for anyone that wants an absolutely stunning proposal spot under the colonnade and a beautiful dinner with an incredible sunset view to follow! Be sure to make reservations in advance as this is a popular location and is often times rented out.
The Griffith Observatory is an iconic spot with a beautiful view of LA on a clear day. Though it’s bustling with tourists during the day, you can get come privacy here in the evenings for sunset or in the morning for a sunrise. This is a great location for a beautiful hike up to the observatory or you can drive right up to the top if you want.
This is the perfect place to take an animal lover on a day long excursion and a very special, up-close experience with exotic animals. We especially love the fact that you can have a wonderful experience with giraffes here!
If you are young at heart, the Santa Monica pier is the perfect destination on the California coast for a wild child proposal. Imagine sitting atop the ferris wheel on a warm summer evening watching the sunset, with cotton candy in one hand and a ring in the other. We think it would be a romantic, and lighthearted way to propose.
If your significant other has a passion for art, and loves the beach this will be the perfect proposal spot! We reccomend making a day of it out here, a nice walk on the beach and then head up to the grassy lawn for a picnic in the company of art installations all around you!
