Phoenix/Scottsdale

Phoenix and Scottsdale are neighboring cities but have completely different souls, which made this adventure to Arizona all the more exciting!  For starters, you should know that this part of Arizona is absolutely beautiful.  You are met by a beautiful jagged horizon made by the surrounding mountains, tall cacti and the warmth of the desert heat.  Below we have found 10 beautiful proposal spots that we hope will help and inspire you to pop the question.

•  Desert Botanical Gardens

Desert flowers and beautiful cacti greet you as soon as you come in the park.  After grabbing a bite at the cafe here, we set out through the gardens for a couple of hours and were blown away by the beauty that the desert has to offer!  This is the perfect proposal spot to come to for those who want to dress up and simply enjoy an easy walk and a romantic talk before heading off to dinner to celebrate.

 

• The Arts District/ Roosevelt Row

Just on the outskirts of downtown Phoenix this is a unique and artsy gem.  The arts district is a hot-spot full of trendy restaurants, bars and beautiful murals painted on the buildings themselves.  We loved wandering the streets and admiring the hip art! This would be a unique proposal spot for the artsy couple. Maybe you can even get a mural commissioned for your proposal!

 

• Paradise Valley

Across from Camelback Mountain and on the other side of Paradise Valley are hills and viewpoints which are the perfect vantage points for a romantic sunset with the mountain in full view.  We found a road winding up the mountain side so we followed it until we found a beautiful vantage point where we perched to enjoy the view.

• The Farm at South Mountain

Beautifully landscaped and just a short drive from Phoenix The Farm is a perfect place for a picnic proposal!  We loved the shady trees and the fact that you could order food there on site and picnic anywhere on the property. The grounds are perfectly manicured with beautiful lighting that make the setting super romantic.

 

• Papago Park

A cute little spot at the end of the dock in full view of Hole in the Rock.  Make a fun day of it out here and visit the zoo next door before coming to hang out in this little desert oasis.  We loved the beauty and peacefulness of this park and the surrounding area.

• Hole in the Rock

Being just an easy little hike up to the view point, this the perfect place to bring your partner with a proposal ring in tow.  The real magic here is found either early in the morning during the sunrise or in the evening when the sun sets. 

• Mountain Shadows Resort

This resort is the perfect place to come for a quick round of golf on their short course, dinner and/or to just come and hang out on the beautiful grounds of the resort.  We had a fine dinner then went for a little dance in the courtyard to top off the evening in the shadow of Camelback Mountain.

• Wrigley Mansion

Perched atop a hill overlooking the valley, Wrigley mansion is the beautiful former summer home of the Wrigley (gum) family.  We came up here for Sunday brunch and had a wonderful experience, the food and the staff were great and the views of the valley were stunning.  We think this would be a great spot for a fancy dinner and to pop the question.

 

• Hike up Camelback Mountain

Every adventure couples dream, Camelback mountain is a challenging hike with spectacular views all the way up!  This isn’t an easy hike and will take you a couple of hours each way so come well prepared with lots of water and maybe a light meal for when you reach the top.  Oh, and don’t forget the ring!

 

• Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon Ride

Well it goes without saying that almost nothing beats a hot-air balloon ride in the desert!  The array of colors in the sky during sunset and the exhilaration of floating hundreds of feet off of the ground makes the experience beautiful all around.  A perfect proposal spot for the thrill seeker or adrenaline junkie!

Mountain Shadow Resort

We stayed at the Mountain Shadows Resort and loved it!  It’s rated as a 4 star hotel but could easily pass as a 5.  The friendly staff, amazing restaurant, beautiful grounds, and the completely remodeled hotel made our stay here one that we can’t wait to come back to.
